A new platform for sustainable transport cooperation is launched

Turkmenistan initiates an informal platform to bring countries together around sustainable transport and international connectivity.

The Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan launched the Group of Friends of Sustainable Transport in New York on 6 July 2022.

The Mission’s report describes participation by more than 90 representatives of UN Member States and statements by representatives of 11 countries that had joined the initiative.

The new platform created a forum to exchange views on transport challenges and cooperation. Information about its establishment was subsequently shared with the UN Secretary-General and the President of the General Assembly.
