In a statement on behalf of the Group to the Second Committee of the 81st General Assembly, the GFST called for practical implementation of the UN Decade of Sustainable Transport, 2026–2035.
The statement highlighted stronger coordination across the UN system and predictable financing for developing countries. It also drew attention to the proposed Atlas of Transport Sustainability as a way to present indicators, good practices and voluntary commitments.
The Group encouraged governments and partners to connect policy commitments with projects and measurable results.
