A new General Assembly resolution supports the Transport Decade

Resolution A/RES/80/132 recognizes sustainable transport partnerships, including the Group of Friends, and sets out next steps for the Decade.

On 15 December 2025, the General Assembly adopted resolution A/RES/80/132, United Nations Decade of Sustainable Transport 2026–2035.

The resolution recognizes the Group of Friends among partnerships contributing to dialogue and cooperation. It provides for reviews in 2030 and 2035, an assessment of UN transport coordination needs and data-driven tools such as an Atlas of Transport Sustainability.

The resolution is now available in the website’s UN document library, alongside earlier transport resolutions and the Group’s ministerial declaration.
